NG Bailey’s IT services division reports strong 2016 growth
November 17, 2016
NG Bailey’s IT Services division today reports sales growth of 7.8 per cent for the first half of 2016 (March to October), reflecting its successes in securing more than £23m worth of new contracts across the UK for its structured cabling, electronic security and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) services.
The company, which provides IT services to help businesses and organisations in the public and private sectors improve productivity, has won more than 30 new IT contracts since February, spanning the full breadth of its services portfolio. These new contract wins, plus strong organic growth through contract extensions, brings the IT Services division’s sales in the 2016-2017 financial year to £38.8m so far, up nearly 8 per cent on the same period last year.
The IT Services division of NG Bailey has been successful in securing contracts across both the commercial and public sectors, including nine deals with universities in the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West. It has also been commissioned to deliver projects in the healthcare, retail, offices, transport and local authority markets, building on its already strong position in these sectors.
As a specialist in the design, supply, installation, management and maintenance of voice, data and structured cabling solutions to contracting, enterprise and public sector clients, NG Bailey IT Services has focused on extending its position in the market with the introduction of a range of new services. These include IP-converged electronic security, intelligent building management and hosted, co-location data centres in partnership with some of the world’s leading vendors.
Bob Dunnett, managing director, NG Bailey’s IT Services division, said: “We are extremely pleased by our sales growth so far in 2016 and look forward to maintaining this momentum to build on our strong sales and profitability performance in the last financial year.
“Our focus on positioning ourselves to deliver highly technical solutions in response to increasingly complex and demanding project briefs is paying great dividends. Clients are increasingly realising the benefits of partnering with trusted suppliers like NG Bailey who can deliver innovative, tailored and cost-effective solutions that best meet their needs.
“The emergence of new technologies has enormous potential to change the way buildings are designed, managed and used and we continue to stay at the forefront of developments. We’ve already seen examples of this in IP security and smart buildings and expect to see further disruption to companies as the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities shake up the market.”
NG Bailey IT Services Ltd is a subsidiary of NG Bailey group Ltd, the UK’s largest independent engineering, IT and facilities services business. Its next annual results will be published in summer 2017, but the half-year sales figures indicate that the business is on course for another strong year. The NG Bailey group-wide results in 2015-2016 showed it tripled operating profit over the previous year to £6m, and increased sales by 12 per cent to £408m. The company’s secured order book rose during that 12-month period 14 per cent to a record £673m.
