NG Bailey’s IT Services division appoints Tim Briggs-Mould as Defence Operations Director

September 18, 2017

NG Bailey’s IT Services division has appointed Ministry of Defence (MoD) veteran Tim Briggs-Mould to the position of Defence Operations Director to oversee the firm’s existing defence contracts.

Having served in the Royal Navy for 37 years, Briggs-Mould joins the business from the MoD where he has spent the last five years working as Head of the British Forces Cyprus CIS branch and Head of Information Systems and Services in Cyprus.

A communications specialist in the maritime field, Briggs-Mould is experienced in the delivery and maintenance of IT services and infrastructure, having overseen the CIS transformation of Cyprus into a modern, capable and versatile hub for operations in the Levant.

“NG Bailey’s IT Services division has over a decade’s worth of specialist experience delivering structured cabling contracts to the defence industry and continues to play a critical role in the sector’s digital transformation,” comments Briggs-Mould. “Few IT services firms can claim to have over 200 engineers actively supporting current defence contracts. I am very excited to be joining a business that is so engaged in my specialist sector and looking forward extending NG Bailey’s hard-won reputation for quality as this part of the business continues to expand.”

The defence sector is a key growth area for NG Bailey’s IT Services division, which specialises in the design, supply, installation, management and maintenance of voice, data and structured cabling solutions to contracting, enterprise and public-sector clients.

Briggs-Mould will report directly to Kelly Tedesco, Business Development Director, IT Services. Tedesco added: “Digital transformation in the defence sector remains a key growth area for us. Providing effective IT services to this sector requires a depth of knowledge and awareness that only a defence specialist can deliver. Tim’s experience, particularly as Head of Information Systems and Services in Cyprus, will be invaluable, and ensure we remain at the forefront of this sector.”

In July, NG Bailey announced strong financial performance for the year to 24 February 2017, reporting sales growth of 23% to £500m and doubling its operating profit.
