Tessera sets global cryptography specialist on path to sustainable and carbon-neutral future
Tessera Ltd, the sustainability consultancy, today announces the publication of Cryptomathic’s inaugural sustainability report.
Tessera’s independent report, commissioned by Cryptomathic, formalises the cryptography pioneer’s holistic approach to sustainability and establishes performance targets for the firm across a wide range of environmental, social and philanthropic initiatives.
“We have worked hard with Tessera to identify both the positive and negative impact that our business has on the world,” comments Morten Landrock, managing director, Cryptomathic. “This work will now enable us to measure our efforts to protect the environment, look after our people and invest in the communities that support our business. We firmly believe in transparency, so holding ourselves publicly accountable is fundamental to this process. We look forward to reporting on the results of our renewed focus next year.”
Grattan MacGiffin, director, Tessera Ltd, comments: “With offices in Denmark, Germany, UK and USA, Cryptomathic is a truly global business with big ambitions, one of which is to measure and report on its social and environmental initiatives. Today’s report distils this ethos and provides measurable targets for the firm to strive for in the coming years. We are both excited and delighted to be part of Cryptomathic’s journey.”
The Cryptomathic sustainability report draws on various corporate data sources relative to the firm’s operations in 2016. It describes how the company’s carbon footprint is calculated, and documents training and charitable initiatives already in place, before identifying targets to be pursued over the coming months.
“By developing cryptographic solutions, we already help large companies around the world address sustainability issues by going digital,” adds Landrock. “Our security technologies help customers eliminate paper consumption, reduce travel and manage their global operations with far greater efficiency. Today’s report reflects our desire to achieve the same goals.”
The report has established a range of targets for Cryptomathic to pursue, including implementing low energy technologies and processes, reducing travel and energy consumption, investing in training and educational institutions, and extending fundraising initiatives for local communities and charities.
